THERA-SUDS align its mission and values with using the best quality ingredients in manufacturing all of our bath and body products. Bath truffles are made with dry and wet ingredients which include cream of tartar (also known as potassium bitartrate), SLSA (also known as sodium lauryl sulfoacetate), sodium bicarbonate (also known as baking soda), citric acid (also known as sour salt), clays, and mica, and the wet ingredients highlighted are a combination of nut butters, natural essential oils or vegan friendly fragrances, and natural/organic glycerin.

The dry and wet ingredients will be briefly explained below along with the benefits for the skin:

Cream of tartar: used in many ways for different things, cream of tartar has incredible positive effects on the skin and for the body in general.  The acidic properties of cream of tartar eliminates and flushes the destructive bacteria that causes skin inflammation and acne. It can also even reduce blackheads. It's the perfect toxin-free solution for healthy skin.

SLSA: its derived from coconut and palm oils and is classified as a safe skin friendly surfactant for both skin and hair because of its large molecular structure. This mild plant derived surfactant creates a lather that effectively removes surface oil, dirt and bacteria, without stripping or drying sensitive skin.

Sodium Bicarbonate: also known as "baking soda", contains anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties, which makes it an ideal ingredient in body products, for skin irritation, and skin dryness.

Citric Acid: is full of skin loving and enriching benefits. Citric acid exfoliates to rid the skin of dead cells, helps to unclog the skin pores, targets the skin’s hydrating support matrix to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, helps to even skin tone, and helps to brighten, soften and smooth the skin. Citric acid is ideal for all ages and skin types.

Kaolin Clay: detoxes and clears pores, absorbs excess oils, skin soother, fights acne, and a great exfoliator.

Mica: Mica powder reflects light because of its glittering or shimmering properties, and can create the illusion of a smoother, softer and more radiant skin tone. Mica has been used for centuries as a pigment and coloring in makeup and cosmetics and is generally considered a safe and natural ingredient, but we use only little amounts in our products.

Cocoa Butter: rich in natural plant compounds called phytochemicals. These substances may improve blood flow to the skin and slow skin aging by protecting against damage from the sun's harmful UV rays. One common use of cocoa butter is to smooth stretch marks, wrinkles, and other scars on the skin. Cocoa butter is a great moisturizer. It's often used as an after sun balm.

Shea Butter: has been found to boost skin moisture, it posses anti-inflammatory properties that may aid in soothing skin issues, it has been found to speed the healing of cuts and scrapes, helps fight breakouts, is full of antioxidants which means anti-aging properties. Due to its high concentration of vitamin E, shea butter is an effective skin lightener.

Natural Essential Oils: provide numerous anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and soothing properties. These oils are used for a variety of skin care concerns. While research into the efficacy of essentials is ongoing, advocates state essential oils can help dry, oily, and acne-prone skin.

Organic Glycerin: vegetable glycerin may lead to better skin health by helping soothe skin irritation, protect against infection, and promote wound healing. Organic plant glycerin does not have any environmental hazards. It is also a vegan-friendly ingredient that can be used in skincare and is beneficial for better hydration: glycerin has the ability to attract moisture from deeper levels of the epidermis and even air to provide moisture to dry or dehydrated skin.

Fill the bath tub half way with warm to hot water (as tolerated). To use the truffles, place a truffle under the running warm to hot water (as tolerated) until it disintegrates in your hands. Then, activate the bubbles with hand movements. Jacuzzis, whirlpools, and jet tubs will make the truffles bubble up on their own.

Warning: The oils and butters can make the tub slippery, so be careful getting in and out of the tub. Children should be supervised. Exercise caution.
